Forbes and Axel Springer Russia received the domain and $300,000 in compensation.

A record domain name compensation award has been made in Russia. The Moscow Arbitration Court has awarded the publishing house Axel Springer Russia and Forbes Media LLC the right to use the domain name forbes.ru. This domain previously belonged to the travel company Landmark VIP Service LLC.

In addition, the court ordered the defendant to pay the plaintiff $300,000 in compensation. This is the largest compensation award ever awarded by a Russian court for the illegal use of a trademark in a domain name.

The Russian online version of Forbes magazine operates on the domain www.forbesrussia.ru. The publication has long been without an online version due to domain issues. Axel Springer Russia filed a lawsuit against Landmark VIP Service LLC back in the summer and later offered to settle the matter out of court, but the forbes.ru domain hijackers refused.
