A French court has refused to ban sales of the Apple iPhone 4S smartphone in France. Samsung filed the lawsuit, continuing its counterclaims against Apple.

Samsung has accused its competitor of illegally using patented wireless technologies in its device.

The court ruled that Samsung must pay Apple €100,000 in legal costs.

A South Korean company filed a similar lawsuit in Italy.

Samsung's previous lawsuits have been more successful, with the company successfully overturning a ban on sales of its devices in Australia.

In addition, an American court refused to impose a ban on the sale of smartphones and one tablet manufactured by Samsung in the United States.

Apple and Samsung have been engaged in legal disputes for more than six months.
