Google bought more than a thousand patents from IBM

Google announced the purchase of several patents from IBM. The main purpose of this acquisition is to protect the company from lawsuits alleging patent infringement.

This is Google's second purchase in the last two weeks.

The company acquired the patents related to technological methods for organizing digital memory in servers, network switches, and internet search engines, as well as data optimization and search results ranking. Google did not disclose the purchase price.

Google has been sued numerous times for patent infringement, with patent claims particularly frequent against its Android operating system.
