Google is building a new data center in Taiwan.

Google has begun construction on a new data center in Asia. This will be the first of a series of previously planned Asian data centers designed to address the growing traffic from the Asia-Pacific region.

According to Google representatives, Asia is seeing particularly rapid growth in the number of new internet users.

Google has begun construction on a new data center on approximately 15 hectares near Changhua County, Taiwan. Investment in this data center will exceed $300 million. By the end of the year, the company plans to build data centers in Singapore and Hong Kong, investing an additional $700 million.

Until recently, Google didn't have its own data centers in Asia, only in the US and Europe. The company recently opened a data center in Finland.
