Google, Apple, and RIM are seeking patent rights from a bankrupt company.

Several major tech companies, including RIM, Apple, and Google, are looking to buy Nortel Networks' patents.

This Canadian company recently went bankrupt. Its patent portfolio was divided into several parts and put up for sale.

At the time of bankruptcy, the company owned approximately 4,000 different patents on various technologies – optical data, wireless networks, and PC creation technologies.

Analysts believe that IT market leaders will be most interested in patents related to LTE broadband data transmission technology.
