Google is preparing to open a new data center in Hong Kong.

Google announced the opening of a new data center in Hong Kong. Investment in the project will total $300 million. The new data center is scheduled to begin operations in early 2013.

Google plans to use the funds to purchase land, construct a data center building, and equip it with technical equipment. The data center will employ 25 full-time employees.

A few weeks ago, Google announced plans to begin building data centers in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The company doesn't have its own data centers in Asia, and with the growing internet audience in these countries, this is becoming a problem.

Google has 15 offices and several thousand employees in the Asia-Pacific region.
