Google is withdrawing applications for new domains.

Google is withdrawing several applications for new top-level domains. Google has abandoned its attempts to obtain the .AND, .ARE, and .EST domains.

This is because the names of these domains coincide with the names of several countries, including Andorra, the United Arab Emirates, and Estonia. This means that, according to ICANN rules, such names are not permitted to be registered as top-level domains.

As a reminder, ICANN has extended the deadline for submitting comments on new domain name applications until September 26.
