Google proposes new internet protocol SPDY

Google is ready to double the speed of content rendering. To this end, Google has unveiled its SPDY development, a new experimental application-level feature.

Its main feature is to speed up data transfer by minimizing the delay in transmitting data from the server to the client.

Google emphasizes that the overall costs associated with the protocol update will be insignificant.

SPDY is currently being tested internally by Google. The company promises data transfer speeds of 27% to 60%, and 39% to 55% when using an SSL connection. These figures are not the limit.

Google is currently testing the protocol on the most heavily trafficked websites. Technically, SPDY utilizes multi-threaded HTTP requests, separating data into control and data channels, prioritizing certain channels, and using various compression techniques for transmitted data.
