Google continues to buy patents

Google is trying to defend its Android mobile operating system from patent lawsuits in every possible way. Despite the popularity of the Android platform and the fact that Google has long been present in the mobile market, it holds a relatively small number of patents. As of early summer, Google held only about 700 patents related to mobile technologies. Apple, meanwhile, held over 4,000 patents, and Microsoft over 8,000.
