Google has opposed the patent claims of the former founder of Microsoft.
Several companies, including Apple, Google, Facebook, and Yahoo, have backed Google in its patent battle against Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Paul Allen.
A few weeks ago, his company, Interval Licensing, filed a lawsuit against eleven IT market leaders for infringement of patents obtained by Interval Licensing about ten years ago.
The patents were obtained between 2000 and 2004 based on internal research funded by Paul Allen.
Google's statement, which was supported by major internet companies, said Interval did not identify specific violations, leaving defendants unable to adequately prepare a defense.
Google also called the lawsuit "unsystematic."
