Hackers breached GoDaddy's websites.
Websites operated by GoDaddy, one of the largest hosting providers, were hacked. In total, nearly 500 of the company's customer accounts were compromised.
After the hack, the hackers changed the site's content so that users were redirected to other sites.
While GoDaddy hasn't disclosed the hacking mechanism, the most likely is a phishing attack. GoDaddy cites a lack of information about the hacking method as its main concern. Therefore, the company cannot guarantee the security of other websites or the absence of future hacks. However, GoDaddy has removed the malicious code from the hacked websites.
