Hostmaster is blocking access to domain owner data.

Hostmaster LLC will close public access to domain owner information effective January 31, 2011. Domain owner data contained in nickname records will no longer be accessible to the public.

These company actions are due to the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On the Protection of Personal Data," which came into force on January 1, 2011. According to this law, starting January 31, 2011, Hostmaster LLC will display the following data in response to Whois queries or other unauthorized requests to domains and objects in the UANIC database: Whois nmf-uanic; nic-handle: NMF-UANIC; remark: Whois privacy protection service; mnt-by: NONE; . The new Law prohibits the transfer of personal data of individuals without their consent. Therefore, the new Whois query will not contain personal data of individuals.

Whenever an email address submitted in this way is accessed, the email will be forwarded to the hidden real address specified in the nickname handle. For new nickname handle entries, as well as when the email field in existing nickname handles is changed, the address will be updated within one hour.

Previously, a Whois query could reveal information about the domain owner's name, place of residence, contact phone number, and email address.

These changes will not affect contact information of legal entities (in whose data the organization field is filled in).
