ICANN introduces new gTLDs

ICANN and registrar Adrenaline TLD Inc plan to expand the Internet's address space and introduce five new sports-related top-level domains.

Skiers, surfers, cyclists, boarders, and figure skaters will receive their own domains—the .ski, .surf, .bike, .board, and .skate domain zones have already been allocated for them.

The idea of ​​introducing new sports domains is not new. Several years ago, there was a push for a new top-level domain called "BASKETBALL," and before that, there were proposals for a "SPORT" domain.

As a result, it was decided to create five new domains associated with certain sports as an experiment. Perhaps, if these domains prove popular, ICANN will create several more similar top-level domains for other sports.
