ICANN launches new .post domain

ICANN has introduced a new top-level domain – the .post domain will belong to the International Postal Union (UPU).

The new domain will be dedicated to postal organizations. This domain will host the websites of post offices worldwide.

In addition to simply allocating the domain zone, ICANN, together with UPU, plans to create new services based on the .post domain, such as combined email. With combined email, emails are delivered to a local office and then printed and delivered to the recipient like a regular letter in an envelope.
