ICANN to launch new gTLDs in June

ICANN announced it plans to seek support from the internet community to launch new top-level domains. A decision regarding the TLDs will be made on June 20 during its 41st meeting in Singapore.

Analysts disagree with some of ICANN's recent actions, particularly the Board's decision to make the .XXX domain a top-level domain (TLD). ICM plans to make the TLD available to adult entertainment providers.

Some government organizations, as well as several representatives of the adult entertainment industry, have spoken out against the decision.
