Online auction Sedo has earned over $20 million.
Sedo, one of the largest online auction companies, has released its third-quarter results.
According to a report from Study.Sedo, the online auction site earned more than $20 million in the third quarter.
According to the report, .COM domains remain the most popular, accounting for 74% of all transactions. .ORG domains accounted for 11% of transactions, and .NET domains accounted for 8%.
Among national domains, the .DE and .CO.UK domain zones are in the lead, however, domains from the German domain zone account for more than half of transactions for all ccTLDs.
The overall transaction volume remains stable, but the report's authors noted a slight decrease in domain transactions in the third quarter compared to the second quarter. In the third quarter, 10,000 transactions were concluded, compared to 9,900 during the same period a year ago.
The authors of the report note that fixed-price transactions have increased to 28%, 19% of domains are sold through the auction model, and 42% are sold through offers and counteroffers.
