There are 555 million websites on the Internet.

According to statistics company Netcraft, there were 555,482,744 websites online at the beginning of December. This is 29.5 million, or 5.6%, more than at the beginning of November.

The report also notes that all of the most popular web servers have been steadily increasing the number of projects they serve in recent months.

In particular, the Apache web server showed the largest growth at the beginning of December, increasing its database by almost 20 million hosts. This was the largest increase in the past five months.

The second most popular web server, Microsoft IIS, grew by 1.2 million hosts, while the Nginx web server also increased its share, capturing 8.85% of the total market.
