A new top-level domain, .POST, has appeared on the internet. This domain was not delegated under the New gTLD program. The application for the domain was submitted back in 2004. The domain is owned by the Universal Postal Union and was approved by ICANN in 2009. The domain has now been delegated.

Domain registration in .POST will be available only to members of the global postal community. It was previously planned that CORE would maintain the domain. However, the Universal Postal Union later announced a tender for domain management. For now, Afilias will provide technical support for the new domain.
