Netcraft has released its latest report on the number of websites on the internet. According to the company's data, the number of websites has exceeded 206 million. The company's specialists identified this number of web resources as of May 1 of this year.

Most web servers hosting websites have increased their user bases. Google has been declining in the number of resources for several months now. In April of this year, the company's website count fell by 1.4 million. This may be due to the service's administration deleting blogs that haven't been updated in a while from the company's servers.

In April last year, Microsoft IIS increased the number of domains it serves by 780,000.

The number of websites served by the Apache server has decreased by 1.9 million.

For the first time, Netcraft specialists announced an increase in the number of websites located on cloud servers.
