There are more than 206 million websites on the Internet.
These figures were released by research company Netcraft. The number of websites online decreased slightly compared to the previous month, from 206.741 million to 206.67 million.
At the same time, the shares of most popular web server programs declined, with the exception of Google's sites and the open-source Lighttpd web server. Their databases increased by 560,000 and 275,000 sites, respectively. The Russian server Nginx also continued to lose ground.
Apache remains the leading web server, powering over 112 million websites and accounting for 54% of the total. Microsoft's server is second with 50 million and 24%, and Google's server is third with 14 million and 6.9%.
