Famous People Are Blocking .XXX Domains with Their Names

Many celebrities—actors, performers, and musicians—have decided to block .XXX domains bearing their names. This blocking will be done once and for all.

Such personalities include Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, David Cameron, Jimi Hendrix, Marilyn Monroe, Amy Winehouse, and Justin Bieber.

These people contacted ICM Registry, the administrator of the .XXX domain, with a request to block the names.

This will protect both performers and registrants of such domains from potential litigation. However, experts believe that similar blocking should have been implemented for well-known companies and celebrities not associated with the entertainment industry.
