California Institute of Technology files patent claims

The California Institute of Technology has filed a lawsuit against major electronics manufacturers. The institute accuses Nokia, LG Electronics, Pantech, and STMicroelectronics of infringing several patents.

These companies infringe nine patents covering camera phone functionality. In its lawsuit, the institute is seeking damages, but has not yet specified a specific amount.

The California Institute of Technology previously filed a similar lawsuit against Canon and Nikon.
