Kodak began selling patents

Kodak, which had filed for bankruptcy, began accepting patent applications. The company planned to receive $2.6 billion for all its patents. However, so far, interest in the company's patents has been low.

Kodak has received two patent applications from Apple and Google. Both companies are seeking the same patents. Apple and Google are reportedly offering only $150-$250 million for Kodak's patents. If Kodak puts the patents up for auction, their value could increase significantly, on average by 3-5 times.

As a reminder, patents are a valuable commodity in today's world. Google recently attempted to pay $900 million for Nortel Networks' patent portfolio, and Apple ultimately paid $4.5 billion for those patents.
