The number of names in the .RU domain zone has reached 3.9 million.

The Russian top-level domain .RU is approaching the 4 million registration mark.

Currently, 3.9 million domain names are registered in the .RU domain. This figure places .RU in sixth place among all national (geographic) top-level domains. Furthermore, .RU is one of the fastest growing domains. The three millionth domain in the .RU zone was registered on the night of September 24-25, 2010.

However, the rate of increase in the number of domains in .RU has slowed slightly: in 2011, 484 thousand new names appeared in the domain, compared to 702 thousand in 2008.

The number of domain names in the Cyrillic top-level domain .РФ exceeds 813 thousand.
