The number of domains on the Internet has exceeded 200 million.
According to Verisign, the total number of domain names worldwide has exceeded 200 million. At the end of the third quarter, there were more than 201.8 million domains. Over the past quarter, their number increased by 3.8 million, or 2%.
The largest TLD domain zones are .COM, .DE (Germany), .NET, .UK (United Kingdom), .ORG, .INFO, .CN, .NL (Netherlands), .EU (European Union), and .RU (Russia). These 10 most popular domain zones account for approximately 60% of all new registrations worldwide.
The total number of ccTDLs (regional domain names) increased to 79.2 million in the third quarter of 2010.
