The number of websites is approaching 700 million.

According to the monthly report from analytics company Netcraft, there were 697 million websites, or 697,089,482, active on the internet at the beginning of June. This is 5.1%, or 34 million, more than at the beginning of May.

The report notes that all major web servers on the market demonstrated growth in the last month of spring. Apache's server base grew to 22.8 million hosts. Microsoft IIS was second, growing by 3.5 million hosts. Nginx has seen its server base grow for the ninth month in a row, reaching 2.1 million hosts in May.

The report also presents statistics on IPv6 servers. The company counted a total of 7 million hosts in the IPv6 AAAA address space, occupying approximately 105,000 physical IPv6 addresses.
