HTC faces claims over its smartphone's name

Vivid Entertainment, a pornographic film company, has filed a lawsuit against HTC. Specifically, the company is demanding that HTC rename its HTC Vivid smartphone.

Vivid Entertainment representatives argue that the company is illegally using the studio's trademark in a letter sent to HTC's American subsidiary. The porn studio insists on changing the name of the HTC Vivid device. If this doesn't happen, the porn studio is preparing to sue HTC.

The name of the HTC Vivid device also translates from English as "bright".

Vivid Entertainment is the largest producer of pornographic video products in the United States.
