eBay has gained control of the ebay.ua domain.

Information about this was published by the publicationHITech.Expertciting an employee of the Lviv company "Kompleks." The trademark was sold at the same time as the domain. The price and terms of the deal were not officially disclosed.

The application to register the ebay.ua domain was submitted back in 2005 by entrepreneur Yaroslav Maksimovich. The domain was delegated in the summer of 2007. During this period, Kompleks was actively developing the online auction project auction.ua.

In November 2007, the Russian investment group Russian Funds and Digital Sky Technologies acquired a 55% stake in the company that owned the online auction Auction.ua.

At the end of 2009, auction.ua was completely sold to the Polish group Allegro, represented by Aukro Ukraine, which owns the website Aukro.ua.

Thus, the Auсtion.ua service became an integral part of the aukro.ua project.

The purchase of the ebay.ua domain may indicate the largest online auction site's interest in the Ukrainian market.

In the comments to the material on HITech.Expert, Yaroslav Maksimovichreported, What "The domain wasn't sold, but was actually GIFTED, with the condition of compensation for registration costs of about $1,000. Incidentally, the money was never paid."
