Hostmaster has introduced a new agreement for registrars to work with IDN domains.
A working group consisting of representatives of registrars and the company "Hostmaster" has developed a document amending the rules for .com.ua/.kiev.ua domain names and regulating the registration of IDN - Cyrillic domain names.
Today this document was presented to the registrars for signature.
Before the document was created, several roundtable discussions were held with all interested registrars participating. These meetings discussed future changes to both the agreement and the rules for .com.ua/.kiev.ua domain names.
Following the discussions, the document itself was created. The following people worked on the document:

In addition, during the process of writing the document, legal consultations were engaged, both from the Hostmaster company and from the registrars.
The document took into account the comments and suggestions of registrars, who expressed them electronically to the working group and during meetings. In particular, the working group encountered the fact that the majority of registrars opposed the introduction of financial sanctions in the form of fines. As a result, numerous fines were replaced with three warnings and one fine with the right to unilaterally terminate the agreement. The fine that can be imposed on a registrar for failure to comply with the agreement or domain rules is 10,000 UAH.
Furthermore, the document stipulates that if a registrar receives 10 or more warnings, they will also be fined and their contract may be terminated unilaterally.
The new agreement states that registrars are required to verify documents to determine whether the IDN declared by the registrar corresponds to its Cyrillic trademark valid in Ukraine or to a Cyrillic trademark recognized as well-known in Ukraine by the State Department of Intellectual Property.
