Lady Gaga fails to win domain dispute
Famous American singer Lady Gaga lost the dispute over the Ladygaga.org domain. The panel of the US National Arbitration Forum (NAF) ruled that the domain will remain with its previous owners.
Lady Gaga argued that the domain was in the hands of cybersquatters who had no rights to it, arguing that the domain was being transferred to her.
The domain arbitration court ruled that if the website owners do not place advertising on it and do not engage in trade, then their domain ownership is only a matter of "lawful non-commercial or fair use."
However, the ruling notes that the site is marked as unofficial. If the site owners profit from it, Lady Gaga could file a new complaint and win the case.
