WordPress has become the leader among free content management systems.
According to a report from iTrack, WordPress became the leader among free content management systems in the second quarter of 2011.
1C-Bitrix is the market leader among paid operating systems, with a 53.4% share. NetCat is second with a 16.46% share, HostCMS is third (11.05%), and UMI.CMS is fourth (7.89%).
In the free content management systems segment, the market leader, WordPress, controls 38.7% of the market, while the previous market leader, Joomla, has fallen to second place (32.05%).
The report's authors note that interest in WordPress is driven by university vacations, and it is this system that is used by beginning developers, primarily students, to create their own websites or blogs.
