Alexa ranking leaders are blacklisted by Google.
Google's "blacklist" - the Google Safe Browsing list - includes more than 600 websites from the top of the Alexa ranking list.
These findings are presented in a study conducted by Zscaler. The study's authors concluded that Google's Safe Browsing blacklist includes more than 600 of the most popular websites.
The Google Safe Browsing list is used by major browsers to identify potentially dangerous websites and warn users of the danger when they attempt to view them. Most of these malicious websites are hosted in the US, Western Europe (Germany, France, and the Netherlands), and China (8%).
The report's authors also concluded that most popular websites included in Google's Safe Browsing list contain malicious JavaScript or an IFRAME element.
