Less than 1% of domains use DNSSEC.

The total number of domain names using the secure DNSSEC protocol is only 0.02%. However, over the past year, the number of such domains has increased by 340%. This is evidenced by research by InfoBlox and Measurement Factory.

This limited support for DNSSEC means that most domain names are vulnerable to malicious attacks.

DNSSEC enables an automated infrastructure that allows systems to verify the validity of DNS information and prevents malicious users from redirecting users to other fraudulent websites.

The DNSSEC protocol is based on digitally signing query responses. Currently, only 13% of domain zones, or 37 top-level domain zones out of a total of 283, already implement DNSSEC.
