Microsoft infringed Motorola Mobility patents
Microsoft infringed Motorola Mobility's patents in the production of Xbox gaming consoles, according to the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Motorola initially accused Microsoft of infringing five patents, but only four were found to have been infringed.
The disputed patents concern Xbox components related to wireless networking and video compression technologies. Motorola Mobility is seeking a ban on Xbox sales in the US.
Microsoft responds to Motorola's claims by saying that the controversial technologies are industry-specific and should be licensed under FRAND (fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory) terms.
