Microsoft sued two domains

Software giant Microsoft has won a lawsuit over two domain names whose names sound similar to the name of its search engine, Bing. As a result of the lawsuit, Microsoft received the domains bingimages.net and bingvideos.net.

Microsoft owns the registered trademark "Bing" in many countries worldwide. In filing the lawsuit, the company's representatives emphasized that the disputed domain names are similar to the Bing name and therefore must belong to the corporation.

"The owner of the domain names registered them two days after the Bing search engine launched," the lawsuit states, so the corporation's representatives believe the domains should be returned to the company.
