Microsoft is helping virus writers

Microsoft has been accused of aiding virus authors. Trend Micro claimed that Microsoft advised users not to scan certain folders on their computers, claiming those folders do not contain files susceptible to virus infection.

In reality, such a warning is too dangerous: users may skip such folders and increase the risk of computer viruses. At the same time, Microsoft representatives believe that such a restriction during antivirus scanning can speed up scans and avoid unnecessary conflicts between programs.

Trend Micro believes that, aware of such warnings, virus authors may intentionally infect user computers through folders that supposedly remain harmless to users.
