Microsoft is suing over the windows.ru domain.

Microsoft's Russian representative office is suing for the domain windows.ru. The domain's owner acquired it back in 1998, when he was manufacturing and selling plastic windows.

Since 2007, the domain has redirected users to an aviation forum. However, the domain's owner, Dmitry Shapovalov, doesn't rule out resuming his window manufacturing business and using the domain name again.

In justifying its decision, Microsoft states that the windows.ru domain is not being used for its intended purpose.

However, Dmitry Shapovalov is ready to sell the disputed domain.
