Many domain zones are stepping up DNSSEC implementation.

The secure data transfer protocol DNSSEC has been implemented in the UK's national domain, .CO.UK. DNSSEC has been supported in .UK domains since March of last year, and in .ME.UK since April of this year.

The British domain zone is far from the first to receive this feature. Last year, .РФ domain administrators were able to use DNSSEC.

Recently, domain owners have been able to submit a request to AFNIC (the administrator of the French domain) to inquire about the possibility of using DNSSEC.

The main feature of DNSSEC is that this protocol prevents attacks aimed at redirecting user requests to other sites without their knowledge.

DNSSEC will soon be available in almost 25% of all domain zones. A recent ICANN report stated that more than 20% of all top-level domains worldwide have already implemented DNSSEC.
