A Moscow court found Rambler liable for user-generated content.

Rambler Media failed to secure a dismissal of charges of hosting pirated content. The Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow District upheld the ruling against the company for hosting counterfeit content. The First Music Publishing House filed its own claims against Rambler.

The court's decision was announced back in February of this year. According to it, Rambler Media must pay a fine of 50,000 rubles for pirating a video.

The video is a copy of a music video by the band Lyapis Trubetskoy, whose copyright holder is First Music Publishing House. Rambler Media's initial compensation award was 100,000 rubles, but the court halved that amount. Yesterday, the appeal court's decision was upheld by the cassation court, which appealed to the court. The company's lawyers plan to petition the Supreme Arbitration Court to reconsider the case.
