Since the beginning of the year, more than 1,300 new domains have appeared in Azerbaijan.

In 2012, Azerbaijan saw a net increase in domain names by 1,300. Since the beginning of the year, 2,800 new domain names have been registered, while 1,400 have been deleted. A total of 14,400 domain names have been registered in the Azerbaijani domain. Of these, 13,400 are in the .AZ domain, the most popular in the country.

The .AZ domain is followed by .COM.AZ – 626, .EDU.AZ – 143, .ORG.AZ – 84, .NET.AZ – 55, .INT.AZ – 44, .PP.AZ – 42, .CO.AZ – 36, .INFO.AZ – 22, .BIZ.AZ – 14, .NAME.AZ – 5, .PRO.AZ – 4.

For comparison, in 2009 the number of .AZ domains grew by 2 thousand, in 2010 – by 3 thousand, in 2011 – by more than 4.3 thousand domain names.
