How to set up ZohoMail for your domain
We have already shared with you instructions on how toset up Yandex.Mailon your domain. Infonica readers suggested writing a similar article about ZohoMail, an email service that lets you create up to 10 email accounts for free in a single account.
ZohoMail prompts you to link your own domain to your email account immediately upon registration. You should specify the domain nameHere(This is a link to a free plan, but paid plans are also available). I chose the .CO.UA domain extension because it's universal. To connect a domain, follow these steps on the My Domains page:
- Verify that you own the domain by changing the DNS records (see instructions below).
- Set up an MX record.
Verifying domain ownership using a CNAME record
- Log inyour officeon NIC.UA.
- Select the My Orders section →Name servers (NS)(or order name servers for free and install them for your domain).
- Select the desired domain from the list and click "Edit DNS records".
- Fill in the fields:
- In the fieldNameCopy the subdomain name that was generated on the pagedomain checks:
- Type: CNAME
- Meaning: zmverify.zoho.com. (The period at the end is required).
Click the "Save and return to editing" button. After a short while, you'll be able to verify your domain ownership. When you click the "Verify" button on the ZohoMail website, you'll see the following message:
*Note: Domain verification may take from 1 to 72 hours.
Setting up MX records
Once your domain is verified, you can proceed to setting up an MX record. Add an MX record by filling in the fields as follows:
Click "Save and return to editing".
*Note: MX records already defined for the "@" name in your domain should be removed. This will prevent email from being lost and ensure it reaches only ZohoMail servers.
