How to set up Yandex.Mail on your domain

You might ask, "Why such an email address?" Firstly, it's aesthetically pleasing, secondly, it's easy to remember. Plus, it looks original. Maybe you have your own reasons?

Let's get started with setup. First, opendomain connection pageOn Yandex, enter the domain name in the input field and click the "Connect domain" button.

To complete connecting your domain, follow these steps on the My Domains page:

1. Verify that you own the domain by changing the DNS records (see instructions below).
2. Set up an MX record.

Verifying domain ownership using a CNAME record

1. Log incabineton the NIC.UA website.
2. Select the section My Orders - Name Servers (NS) (or ordername server, it's free).

3. Select the desired domain from the list and click "Edit DNS records".
4. Fill in the fields:

• In the fieldNameCopy the subdomain name that was generated on the page "My domains»:
• Type: CNAME
• Meaning: mail.yandex.ru.(the period at the end is required).

Click the "Save and return to editing" button.

If everything is done correctly, after a while on the page “My domains" Step 1 will be crossed out.

Note.Domain verification may take from 1 to 72 hours.

Setting up MX records

Once you have verified your domain ownership, you can proceed to setting up the MX record.

1. Add an MX record as follows:

Fill in the fields:

Click "Save and return to editing"*.

* Note: MX records that were already registered in your domain for the name “@” must be deleted so that mail is not lost and only arrives to Yandex servers.

To access mail at mail.testdomain.com, add the following entry:

In this case, the host alias looks like this: domain.mail.yandex.net. (with a period at the end).

The DNS record should look like this:

Click "Save and return to order list".

Creating mailboxes in a domain

Mailboxes are created on the page "My domains".

Once you add a mailbox, you can use it right away!

You can access your email account on your own domain at this address: http://mail.yandex.ru/for/testdomain.com, where testdomain.com is your domain name. To log in, use the full email address and password.
