NewTLDs.com offers discounted New gTLD registrations

Applicants for new top-level domains now have a new option that significantly shortens the application process and makes it more affordable. This option will allow trademark owners to reduce the cost of obtaining a new domain.

New gTLD applicants will be required to pay a registration fee of $35,000, plus several other fees, detailed on NewTLDs.com. This is less than the $185,000 required by a New gTLD applicant. In turn, the company that owns NewTLDs.com will become an ICANN applicant for multiple domains, reducing costs for end users.

The company believes that the prices it offers will be more affordable for brand owners, who will thus be able to protect themselves from unscrupulous registrations of top-level domain zones.

As a reminder, ICANN will accept applications for New gTLD registration for a three-month period beginning January 12, 2012.
