Nokia wins patent dispute against Apple
The U.S. International Trade Commission (UITC) believes Nokia did not infringe Apple's patents. While this information is not yet official, UITC officials did not find sufficient violations on Nokia's part.
Thus, the investigation concluded that Nokia did not commit the violations Apple accused it of. As a reminder, Apple accused the Finnish company of using several patented technologies implemented in the Apple iPhone.
The investigators emphasized that if Apple continues to insist on its position, it needs to provide a more robust evidence base.
The final conclusion is expected to be announced in February 2011.
As a reminder, Apple filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission accusing Nokia of infringing Apple's patents. Nokia filed a similar complaint in late 2009.
Currently, the US International Trade Commission is considering two applications from each of the companies.
