One of the founders of Masterhost has sold his stake and is leaving his position as its head.

Masterhost owns several businesses, including hosting services with its own data center, the Mastername domain registrar, and the online publication Webplanet. Leonid Filatov's stake was acquired by another co-owner, Evgeny Benevolensky.

Several months ago it became known about the creation of a unitedMasterhost and Reg.Ru domain registrar.

Experts estimate Masterhost's share of the RuNet hosting market at 40%. Hosting Community currently holds the lead, controlling 45%.
