Opera Mini: Now Available for Windows Mobile
Opera Software today announced Opera Mini 5 beta, specifically designed for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 platforms.
Closer integration of Opera Mini into Windows Mobile will ensure optimal browser performance on this platform, significantly improving performance and overall user experience. Opera Mini on Windows Mobile does not require Java support, meaning the browser will run on any device running Windows Mobile.
At the same time, Opera Mini 5 beta for Windows Mobile includes the same features and options as the Java version of the browser. These include tabbed browsing, a password manager, bookmarks, and Speed Dial.
One of the main advantages of the Opera Mini browser is its ability to compress traffic by up to 90%, ensuring web pages load faster on your phone. Furthermore, data compression technology significantly reduces traffic consumption and, therefore, reduces mobile data costs.
"Windows Mobile deserves a mobile browser that looks, handles, and performs better than the platform's default," said Dag Olav Norem, vice president of mobile products at Opera Software. "While Opera Mini has already reached 50 million users, we continue to look for ways to improve our browser for all mobile phone users. A special version of Opera Mini for Windows Mobile, designed as an app for this platform, is evidence of this."
Windows Mobile 5 and 6 users can download the Opera Mini beta for free at http://m.opera.com/next and learn more about the browser at http://www.opera.com/mini/next. Java support is not required on your phone to download Opera Mini.
