The TOP-10 banks whose cards were used for Uanet payments in the fourth quarter of 2009 have been determined.
The MoneyNews editorial team, together with Portmone.com, an interbank electronic bill payment and delivery system, conducted a quarterly study to determine the ranking of banks whose cardholders pay for purchases and services on the Ukrainian internet.
The study analyzed transaction data for the fourth quarter of 2009.
The results of the rating are reflected in the TOP-10 Ukrainian banks presented below.

(0) - the bank’s position in the rating has not changed;
(+1) - the bank’s position has risen in the ranking;
(-1) - the bank's position dropped in the rating.
"The current ranking has seen a slight redistribution of positions, with one participant—Nadra Bank—disappearing. In the previous ranking, it fell from 5th to 10th place, and now it's completely removed from the rankings. Universal Bank has taken its place," comments Igor Gorin, director of Portmone.com. "But Oschadbank continues to climb—in the previous ranking, it rose from 8th to 5th place, and now we see it in 4th place. This is likely due to the fact that, due to the difficult situation in the country, people have begun to trust the state-owned bank more."
"Unlike the ranking of banks used by RuNet users (according to ChronoPay), the ranking of Ukrainian banks is subject to less fluctuation in quarterly figures. It's noteworthy that the top three Ukrainian banks have remained unchanged since the third quarter of 2009. A significant number of Ukrainian internet users have remained loyal to the banks whose cards they have used to pay for goods and services online at least once. Therefore, it will be very interesting to track future ranking trends," comments MoneyNews Editor-in-Chief Sergey Stetsenko.
