Pre-orders for .UA and .УКР domains are now open.

Today weofficially started accepting applicationsPre-registration of .UA and .УКР domains. All applications are free.

We'd like to share some details that will help clarify what this project is and why it was launched.

Launchhttp://preorder.nic.ua/The pre-order process has several goals. First and foremost, it's a response to our customers' long-standing requests for free registration of .UA and .УКР domains. Each user who submits a request will receive a reminder that the domain they've been looking for is now available for registration.

Like other registrars, we don't know the exact launch date for free registration of .UA and .УКР domains, and we don't mention it in any of our newsletters or publications.

On the cancellation of trademarks

"All of Hostmaster's recent actions are aimed at reforming the .UA domain. Furthermore, Hostmaster's transition of Ukrainian domains to EPP essentially serves as preparation for the transition of .UA domains to open registration. Therefore, it's safe to say that the abolition of trademarks for .UA will occur in the foreseeable future," comments Andriy Khvetkevich, Director of NIC.UA.

Also, two years ago, Tatyana Dolinskaya, director of the company "Hostmaster",stated in an interview with InfonicaThat all Ukrainian domains will soon become paid and their administrators will switch to a unified standard, and that the next step will be the abolition of trademarks in the .UA domain. The first step is already underway (paid .ORG.UA and the transition of domains to EPP), and the second is also just around the corner.

In response to the opening of pre-orders for the .UA and .УКР domains, Hostmaster published a note on its official website stating that no changes to second-level domain name registration procedures are currently planned.

We didn't announce the cancellation of the trademark in the .UA domain—Hostmaster has already done that, as we wrote above. However, we also don't dispute Hostmaster's official statements and respect their decisions. Therefore, like many of you, we eagerly await the official opening of trademark-free .UA domain registration.
