The Pirate Party of Russia is heading to the polls.

The Pirate Party of Russia public movement plans to register as a party and participate in the elections.

The initiators of this idea plan to hold a founding congress and prepare for elections. To do this, the organization wants to register with the Russian Ministry of Justice.

The ideology of the "Pirate Party of Russia" is free access to any information. The movement's organizers do not advocate breaking the law or illegally distributing copyrighted materials. They do encourage more active distribution of products not covered by copyright law.

The party also advocates for patent and copyright reform. Party representatives believe that publishers and music labels are the true stranglers of modern culture.

The Pirate Party movement emerged in Europe in 2006. Several such parties participated in elections, and representatives of the Swedish Pirate Party entered the European Parliament.
