Google Search is moving to a secure protocol.
Google plans to switch to a secure protocol for search engine users.
By default, after a few weeks, users will be redirected to a page where data exchange will be carried out via the HTTPS protocol. This will make using the service more secure. Using a secure protocol is essential for personalized search.
Google promises to encrypt all search queries and data sent by users online.
Owners of websites accessed using a secure protocol won't be able to see the user's search query. They will only be able to view the last 1,000 queries through Webmaster Center.
Website owners will only be able to obtain click-through information if users navigate to the site through a contextual advertising ad.
The Gmail email service began using a secure protocol back in January 2010, and testing of a secure protocol for Google search began in June 2010.
